Are you working without a speaker management plan?
Life is fairly easy if you have one speaker to manage, or perhaps two; but what happens when you have 8, 16 or 50? You want to appear as professional as possible and having a speaker management plan can help with that. You will also be less likely to have misunderstandings, drop outs and other speaker issues if you are organised and in control.
Here are some aspects to think about when putting together your speaker management plan:
Always add in timelines and deadlines to make it clear what needs to be done by when
Have a communication plan with what needs to be communicated
Put together checklists on what you need from them and what they need from you
Keep speakers updated with how the event sales and changes are progressing
If you have any concerns that someone might not be turning up then make sure you get on the phone and talk to them
Ensure that each speaker knows where they have to be and when at your event. Spoon feeding can be a good thing with speakers!
